My refuge table

Life is truly filled with a lot of surprises. It could be as big and as life changing as buying a car. If you open your eyes, it could also be as little as getting your favorite table.

There’s this go-to-restaurant I run to whenever I have noone to eat with or hang out  with. I take it as a time for me to read, write and spend quality time with the Lord.

Tonight was one of those nights.

I stepped into the resto a little reluctant. I thought of the splurge I will be making and the calories I’ll be stuffing into my body. I also felt a wee bit sad knowing I would be eating at the second best table again – a dark little space in a corner just opposite my favorite table.

You see, I prefer eating at the brightest most secluded  area I could find. But you know how it goes: The best table is always taken!

After giving my order with no trace of guilt with the milktea *evil grin, my mind was already set for disappointment.

To my surpise, as I turned around, I found my favorite table was free!

I cannot tell you how shookt I was as I took that few steps and sat at the most brightly lit table on the tiny little space I call a resto. *glory light sound effect

So here is happy me sitting at my refuge table eating something new and drinking a really good blend of milktea.

Oh! But there’s no picture of me… just my Chicken Sa Po Fan and milktea

As I write to you, I keep on pondering about how life is truly filled with a lot of surprises.

It could be as big and as life changing as getting a car, getting a promotion, or saying “I do.” But if you open your eyes, it could also be something as little as getting your favorite table.

On a night like this where there’s nowhere to go on a Friday, there’s nothing better than eating alone expecting the very least and then getting the very best.

As my VG and I  would always croon, “God is so sweet!”

Even at the smallest of things, let us not close our eyes from the good and the beautiful that God is showering upon us today. It could be that satiated craving for milktea or getting your favorite table.

How about you?

How has God captivated you today?
